Naomh Conaill turned on the charm in the second half as they proved to hot to handle for struggling Termon at Davy Brennan Park.

Naomh Conaill 3-13

Termon 0-4

Only ahead by three points, 0-5 to 0-2, at half-time Naomh Conaill really cut loose in the second 30 minutes with Brendan McDyer, Leo McLoone and Eunan Doherty netting the goals, in a game the winners had 11 different scorers.

But it was a slow start. Not even the introduction of Anthony Thompson in the middle of the half for the black carded Marty Boyle, could kick start the Naomh Conaill men. Their three opening scores came courtesy of two from Dermot Molloy and the other from Boyle.

But another Molloy converted free on 17 minutes and a well struck individual strike from Darragh Gallagher was all the men in blue and white had to show for the remainder of their first half exploits. This despite dominating in the possession stakes.

Kevin McMenamin, on four minutes, and Stephen McElwaine deep in injury time in the first half, were the Termon men to hit the target.

But the second half was a different story and it was no coincidence either that the introduction of Leo McLoone sparked the Naomh Conaill charm offence.

McLoone set up McDyer for the first goal on 38 minutes and banged home the second himself nine minutes later.

And to crown a good half he also provided the final cross for Eunan Doherty palmed third three-pointer.

By the time Doherty struck for goal number three six minutes from time, Naomh Conaill were well on their way to another brace of points. And the winners added three more points to Termon’s one.
