St. Michael’s U-14 girls travelled to Glencollumbkille to play Naomh Columba on Friday night last.

Naomh Columba 5-7

St. Michael’s 6-6

Naomh Columba got of to a great start opening with a mighty point. St. Michael’s girls played well keeping the score gap close with Molly Roarty, Mary B Gallagher and Kayleigh Carr having a great half in the defensive line up. Lauryn Russell showed some outstanding goalkeeping which kept our girls in the game throughout the match.

In the second half St. Michael’s got of to a bad start going from 1 point behind to 10 points behind.

However the girls never gave up and fought hard with young Ciara Mc Garvey lifting the team going speeding from back line to forward line scoring a fantastic goal. Clodagh Langan and Clara Rodden had a great second half working well together to get the scores on the board.

Naomh Columbia made it hard for our girls to claim victory but passion and determination shone through in our girls. Each and every player including the subs which came on showed great football skills and had a fantastic game.

The girls won by two points in the end with great celebrations following.

The girls are now in a 3 way play off to get through to the county semi=finals along with Naomh Columba and Naomh Muire.
