Christy Toye is in line to make his first appearance for Donegal since the 2012 All-Ireland final when they face Queen’s University on Wednesday.
Jim McGuinness’s team defeated Armagh 1-10 to 0-11 at the Athletic Grounds yesterday and the Donegal manager saw Neil McGee, Neil Gallagher (both knee) and David Walsh (hernia) return from injury.
Toye, now 30, was an absentee for all of last year with a virus but is back in contention.McGuinness wants to reintroduce players who suffered injuries over the winter ahead of Donegal’s first match in Allianz Division Two, away to Laois on League February 2.
“There’s a good possibility that Christy will get to play a part on Wednesday and that’s great for him,” McGuinness said. “We’ll look at the others and see how they come through it.
“We will look and see who needs more game time.”
