Tickets are now on sale for the finale of Strictly Come Dancing on Friday the 9th of May priced at €15 each. There will be no admission at the door without a ticket.
Well done to the U-12 girls who played their first blitz of the year in Glenties on Saturday. The girls played very well in all four games winning two of them. There was great team work on show from all the girls and some great scores. For some of the girls this was their first blitz and they played very well. All the girls should be very proud of themselves. The team was Zara Gibson, Orla Mc Elchar, Aimee Callaghan, Maddison White, Aoife Bradley, Eadaoin Whyte, Caitlin Geary, Aine Gallagher, Latisha Rowan, Kassey Thrope, Lauren Mc Menamin, Roisin Doherty, Serena Merritt, Elin Gallen O Dwyer, Amy Lafferty, Molly Gillespie Tiffany Marley.
The U14 girls defeated Convoy on a score line of 5-7 to 5-1. The girls showed great heart and determination. The minors are division two Northern Board champions. It was a perfect evening for a game in Convoy. They defeated St Michael’s in the final and now play Na Rossa/Dungloe in the semi-final on Wednesday.
The senior men have been without a game for two weeks and are eager to get back in action this weekend. The senior ladies open their league campaign at home this Thursday against Convoy. Throw in is 7pm. This weeks lotto results. The numbers drawn were 3,8,6,1,7,5,4,2. One winner matched 5 numbers. Well done to Mary Coyle Monellan who won €50. Next week’s Jackpot is €3900. This weeks 100+ winner was number 34 which was won by Alex Doherty Mounthall who receives €100.

The senior team completed their final championship seeding match at Ruislip with victory over Fulham Irish, on Sunday.
It was a decent performance so early in the season with special mention for Philip Butler and Brendan McAtarnsay who excelled in defence, Strong running from Mark Gottsche in midfield with Liam Gavaghan up front showing he will be heavily involved this year’s senior championship. Final score TCG 3-10, Fulham Irish 0-7. The junior team return to action this Sunday 4th May were they play in the McArdle Cup final against Moindearg at Ruislip.
The young guns were beat in two finals last year and hope to seal a cup this term, however playing against a much more experienced and improving Moindearg will test them to the limit.
The club would like to thank everyone who has helped out with vital works to the clubhouse over the past two weeks.
The main bar has had a much needed makeover with the external having a tart up, more works are required over the coming weeks and the club would appreciate if members can make themselves available. Contact facilities manager Maurice Carr on 07843429921 for diary of works.
The ladies board are hosting a fundraising quiz night this Friday 2nd May in the clubhouse.
Entry fee is £20 for a team of four, on the night their will be a raffle with spot prizes, snacks served to all competing teams. Proceedings start at 9pm sharp.
On Saturday 10th May the club will hold our annual presentation night in the clubhouse.
On the night medals will be presented out to the successful teams of 2013 along with player of the year award for men’s and ladies teams.
The club would like to congratulate club physiotherapist Kate Mooney on her recent engagement.
The annual Peter McGlynn Memorial Tournament takes place at Greenford on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May. The club is delighted that Peter’s parents, Michael and Margaret McGlynn, will be traveling over from Ireland to attend.
At this years ABC tournament at Greenford in July, the Gaels of Britain will again be attempting to break the World record at having the most amount of people on a pitch playing a game of football.

Both the seniors and the reserves lost away at the weekend against Aodh Ruadh. The ladies opened their campaign at home in Division 3 on Saturday against Naomh Columba. They lost 4-10 to 7-4. Underage results from last week. The U14 boys beat St. Michaels by 8-9 to 4-2 and the U16s beat Burt 1-8 to 1-6 in Burt, in their opening game of season.
The Lotto numbers for jackpot of €2950 were 5,8,7, 3,6,2,1, 4. There was no winner. Next week’s Jackpot is €3000. Congratulations to our Reserves who won well against Downings on Saturday night to 2-15 to 0-8. The minors took on Gaoth Dobhair in the Northern Board U18 Division 1 semi-final at Convoy on Wednesday last. Unfortunately Gaoth Dobhair had built up a strong lead at half time and extended that lead in the second half.
This week’s Lotto numbers are 3, 20, 17, 16, 10 and the most correct winners (matching four numbers) are John and Jim (Peter’s bar) who win €75. Next week’s jackpot €5,200. The club are seeking volunteers to act as Lotto sellers and join the existing rota.

This year’s Fun Run/Walk has been scheduled to take place on Saturday May 31st, details to follow in the coming weeks. This year sees the club celebrate its 40th anniversary. Ground work is currently being put into an event during the summer months and a date will be released soon. For the celebration we will be gathering old photographs, articles and memorabilia from the years gone by. Dungloe hurlers played Carndonagh on Thursday evening last in Dungloe in conditions perfect for hurling. Dungloe weathered some early pressure with the full back line defending very well, particularly Brendan Boyle and Odhran McGonagle. Dungloe began to dominate possession in around the centre and began to lay off good ball into the half forwards and full forward line. Dungloe lead by 2-3 to 0-1 at half time. Dungloe continued to dominate in the second half and ran out winners by 4-8 to 2-1. All future notifications to club members will now be posted on Facebook rather than by text. It is therefore important to keep an eye out for messages regarding ordering / pick up point of tickets etc for the coming season. The club are hosting another brilliant night of entertainment on May 3rd and 10th. Family Fortunes will be in the clubhouse. Teams of five will pit their wits against each other. There will be prizes for winners and runners up. Teams are to be at the club for 9.45 pm.
Well done to all the children who took part in the Easter Camp. We had three brilliant days of fun and games in the brilliant sunshine. Massive thanks to all the coaches and helpers who gave up their time to make the camp the success it was.

Sean Mac Cumhaills opened the scoring with a point but Glenfin replied with three points, Sean MacCumhaills added three more points and a goal to leave the half time score 1-4 to 0-3.
On the restart Sean Mac Cumhaills scored a further goal and three more points and were dominant at this stage of the game. Sean MacCumhaills finished with a goal to leave the full timne score 3-7 to Glenfin’s 2-7.
The third team made the short trip to O Donnell Park in their second game and won 3-11 to 1-8. The scorers were Karl Hughes 1-1,Gavin Doherty 0-2,Anthony Patton 0-1,David White 0-4,Mark O Sullivan 0-1,Alan Patton1-1 Mark Griffin 1-0. There was no winner of this weeks Lotto. The seniors defeated neighbours Killybeg,s in the Frankie Daniels Memorial final last Saturday evening by 3-10 to 2-11 in Fintra.
The ladies thad their first outings of the season last week on Thursday they were narrowly defeated in the Gaeltacht by Termon and on Sunday they lost to Buncrana in the opening match of the league. The Under 14s had another good victory over Naomh Ultan last Wednesday evening.
The final score Cill Chartha 6-11, Naomh Ultan 0-6.

Pride of place this week must go to our excellent minor team, who were crowned Southern Minor League Division 1 Champions. A great team performance last Wednesday evening, saw them beat a gallant Ardara by a goal. Much credit must go to all the lads, Noel and Declan for all the hard work, so far this season. At the moment we are due to play St Eunans in Glenties this Wednesday 30th at 7pm. Last Friday our U-14 girls had a nail biting win over Ardara in Pairc na nGael, well
done girls. They are due to play Kilcar, away in the next match. All houses in the parish should have recieved letters regarding the club’s 50/50 Draw and in the next week club representatives will doing follow up calls around the parish.

The seniors and reserves continued their season with wins over Naomh Padraig Muff on Saturday evening last.
Congratulations to Eimear Quinn on winning the recent Feile skills competition. She now goes on to represent Donegal at Feile 2014 later in the year.
In Camogie our 5th and6th class girls travelled to Four Masters and came away with a good win.
Well done to our girls on the Donegal U16 Camogie squad who took part in the Pan Celtic Camogie competition at the weekend. They were unlucky to lose out in the semi-final.

The U16 lads start their season this Friday 2nd May at 7pm at home to Robert Emmetts. All support welcome.The U8 & U10 hurlers played in their first blitz of the year in Convoy last weekend. We won 5 out of 8 games in what was a very competitive and enjoyable day.
Hurling training for U6, U8, U10 and U12 continues at the pitch every Thursday evening from 6.30-7.30pm. Hurleys and helmets provided for training.

The seniors lost out to Moville last weekend in their latest league match. Well done to Declan, John and Christian on winning the Ulster minor league title last weekend. The minor B team play Red Hughs this week in the county Division 2 semi final.

If all goes well the final is scheduled for Monday May 5th at 3.30 pm. Our thirds had a good victory over Pettigo last Saturday evening and next up for the Thirds is an away trip to MacCumhaills on Saturday May 3rd at 7pm. Our U14 boys had a good victory over Red Hughs in the league quarter final and now face Cloughaneely in the semi final on Tuesday April 29th at home with a throw in for 7 pm. The seniors play St. Michaels on Friday May 2nd down in Dunfanaghy at 7.30pm. Finally, the club would like to wish Catriona Boyle all the best in the Cailin Gaelach this Saturday night May 3rd.

Comórtas Peil na Gaeltachta will take place in the Banks this weekend (3rd-5th May). A lot of top class matches in store as well as plenty of craic.
The club’s annual Big Breakfast will take place on Sunday 4th May and tickets are available now priced at €5 for adults and €3 for children. This has been a massive success in recent years with great food and a social gathering for all members, this year should be just as good. The U14 boys were unfortunate to be defeated in the quarter final on Friday evening by 4-9 to 1-9. With several players missing the boys put up a superb performance against a strong Muff team. Scorers were John Friel 1-0, Mark McAteer 0-8, Eoghan Shiels 0-1.
The U-15 boys beat local rivals Milford on Monday evening in an epic battle 5-9 to 4-10. The boys were six points down with five minutes to go. The scorers were Bernard McGettigan 0-1, John Heraghty 0-1, Brandon McClafferty 3-1 and Mark McAteer 2-6.

The monthly committee meeting is now put back one week and will be on next Thursday 08th May at usual time.
We have a number of match day passes on sale which may be of interest to anyone attends a lot of club fixtures. The card will give holders admittance to all senior fixtures, league and championship run by Donegal County Board. It does not include intercounty or underage games. The ladies will take on St Eunans in the first game in Division 1 on Wednesday. Commiserations to Aisling McHugh, Lianne Boyce and Aoife Donnelly who were part of the Donegal U16s Ladies team that were knocked out of the championship by Tyrone on Easter Monday. Aisling started out corner back before being moved to half back while Lianne scored 1-1 from full forward.
The U14s take on Cloughaneely in the quarter final this Friday at 4.30pm on Friday. All players are asked to be there for 3.50pm
The U14s concluded their group matches with a loss away to Fanad Gaels last Wednesday.
After defeating Glenswilly in their opening league game, 2-17 to 0-4, the U14s girls now take on Letterkenny Gaels on Tuesday at 5.30pm.
