Four Masters had a good win from the long grip to Malin on Sunday to add to the difficult start to the season for the Inishowen men
Four Masters 2-11
Raymond McGrory’s converted penalty four minutes into the second half pushed this game beyond Malin, extending the visitors lead to eight points at a vital stage in the game.
But for a couple of easy Four Masters points in the final minute of the first half it could have been a closer encounter as there was little to separate the teams at this stage.
Niall Fildara’s defence splitting flick sent Brendan Fildara through to goal for Malin in the fourth minute but Conor McDaid cancelled this with a goal for the visitors within minutes. Four Masters led 1-7 to 1-3 at the interval.
A well taken taken point from Declan Walsh ten minutes into the half was not added to by Malin until the dying minutes by which time the visitors were comfortably in front.
This ultimately was the difference between the sides, a well drilled Four Masters defence ensured that Malin had to work hard to earn their scores while the visiting forwards were more economical on the day.
