The senior team played KKG in round 1 of the Tipperary cup last Saturday at Greenford
and recorded a 2-16 to 4-6 victory. Best on the day were Philip Butler, Declan Lennon, Barry Mitchell, Jon Mc Nicholas and Cathal O’Neill.
The senior team play this Sunday 23rd March against Round Towers in round two of the
Tipperary Cup, at Mitcham with a 3-30 pm throw-in. The junior team kick off their season against Thomas McCurtains in round one of the McArdle Cup, also on Sunday with the game to be played in Goodmayes with a 2 pm throw-in. Well done to club President Paddy Burke, on receiving his Presidents Award last Friday from Uachtaran Liam O’Neill for services to the GAA. The event was recorded live on TG4 with Paddy giving an interview beforehand and getting a personal tour of Croke Park. Can anyone who has not paid their membership yet please do it this week. The U-14 boys played Burt on Sunday past and had a good away win in this Northern Board fixture on a score of 5-7 to 3-8.
In these times of financial constraints on families please take a few minutes to look at this idea of a boot exchange programme the club are hoping to introduce. Old football boots in good condition that children have out grown can be dropped in or exchanged for a bigger or smaller pair as required. The Lotto numbers for 12/03/14 for Jackpot of €2700 were 3, 5, 6, 4, 1, 8, 7, 2. There were no winners. Next week’s Jackpot is €2750. In the Ulster final of the U13 Doubles Handball - Ridhcheall Doherty/Gemma Bradley unfortunately lost out to Tyrone. However, they done the club proud in reaching the Ulster Final and can use the experience gained to their advantage next year.
The local handball league continues for 5th and 6th class boys on a Tuesday from 3 to 4 pm. Training for national school children on Monday’s from 6.30 – 8 pm and for secondary from 4 tov5.15 pm on Tuesdays. There will be a Child Protection Awareness Course in the GAA Centre on Monday 31st of March. Anyone interested in doing it please contact Brendan Carr. All club membership must be paid by March 31st.

The u10s travelled to Bishop’s Field in Derry on Sunday for a blitz – well done to all the players for great performances in their matches.
Fun Fridays Gaelic continues (weather permitting) this Friday (21st) from 6.30 to 7.30 pm. €2 per child and everybody is welcome. The club is again registered for the Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme so please start collecting the vouchers on behalf of the club.

The senior and reserve footballers begin their All County League campaign with a home clash with Kilcar in Connolly Park on Sunday. Terence Colhoun and his men will be looking to build on last seasons impressive fourth. The reserve side with new manager Paco Mc Laughlin (Fildara) at the helm will be hoping to get the season off to a winning start also. Ladies senior training continues on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. This year the ladies will enter Division 4 in the League and the Junior B Championship. All new players are welcome to attend & any questions please contact Christina on 0861980399. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that attended Our big breakfast. We dished out a great total of 360 breakfasts and overall it was a great success. There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €1950. The sequence drawn was 2-4-6-1-5-3-7. The 50 euro winner was Dina Mc Laughlin, Drumaville. The 20 euro sellers prize going to Bronagh Mc Carron. The minors had no game last weekend. This Sunday they play away to St.Eunan’s in what should be an entertaining derby game.
The U14 team were defeated last Sunday at home to Termon. Next up this Sunday our neighbours Glenswilly make the short trip down river to Pairc na nGael. All managers are reminded that the pitch is only open for competitive games until further notice. Lotto numbers for week ending the 16th March were 18, 19, 20 and 22. Match 3 winner was Hughie Sweeney, Glencar Park. This week’s jackpot is €2150.
Club membership for 2014 is now due and all club members are asked to register for the season at their earliest convenience. We will be having a number of open registration sessions throughout March to facilitate members. Our next sessions takes place this Thursday, 20th March from 8pm to 9pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh, followed by an extended session this Saturday coinciding with our league games against Buncrana. Members will be able to register between 3.30pm and 5.30pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. Membership can also be paid at any time to Mary Matthews, at Shannon’s Corner.
As a new season throws in and membership is being renewed we would like to take this opportunity to ask all members to get involved and take part in the club and its various activities such as lotto, bingo and so on. Members are being asked to sign up and give an hour to the club.
The under 14s went down against Four Masters on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-6 in their first game of the season. Four Masters got off to a good start hitting a goal and two points before Aodh Ruadh got off the mark with a point from Michael McKenna. The sides went tit for tat until half time when the homesters went in leading by 2-5 to 1-2. The second half saw Four Masters once again getting the better of it, getting a penalty to flesh out their scoring, with the Aodh Ruadh lads delivering an uncharacteristically below par performance. Best for Ballyshannon on the day was Pauric Keenaghan who was outstanding at centre half back, while Senan Rooney, introduced into the defence five minutes before half time, made a huge impact. Dylan Gallagher made a good contribution up front and finished with four points to his credit. Odhran Kennedy fired over a brilliant long range point and Shane Gillespie got a cracker of goal, while Michael McKenna was busy throughout and registered 1-1. The senior match was followed by a ten-a-side development game. That saw the Ballyshannon lads performing very well with Jack McCaffrey, Mark Gettins, Cian Barden and Joe Donagher in particular catching the eye.
The club had the largest representation on the starting 15 for the Donegal minor hurling team as they started their campaign in division one of the Ulster Minor League against Derry.
The eighth annual Hurl-A-Thon takes place on Saturday 5th April from 10am to 10pm in the Mercy Hall.
Well done to our young footballers and hurlers who came out in large numbers for the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade. A full match programme will be prepared for this game. The under 14s played Ardara, Dungloe had a comprehensive victory on a score-line of An Clochan Liath 10-12 Ardara 2-0. The Minor A team played Bundoran and also had a comprehensive victory on a score-line of Dungloe / Na Rossa A 7-27 Bundoran 1-7. The Minor B team played in Glenties and lost out on a score-line of Dungloe / Na Rossa B 1-5 Glenties 2-15. Good performances again from Ryan McGonagle, Ryan Connors and Eoin Duggan. Finally the reserve team were beaten on a score-line of An Clochan Liath 1-11, Naomh Columba 3-12 in the Gaelthacht competition.

Dungloe GAA would like to inform anyone needing Club membership for 2014, that the deadline from Croke Park is 31st of March 2014, all registrations must be in before this date. If anyone would like to renew their membership or become a member contact Ellen Scally.
The All County Leagues begin this week and the senior and reserve teams are at home to St Eunans on Sunday. There will be a special club meeting on Thursday 20th at 9pm in the clubhouse.
Final date for registration is March 25th. Tickets for Donegal games will only be sought for those who have club membership. Anyone who still needs to pay membership registration they can do so on Thursday and Friday evening from 7-8pm at the clubhouse.
The club extends their deepest sympathy to Ben and Bernadette McFadden and family Ards on the death of Bernadette’s mother Celia Dorrian. Sympathy is also expressed to Brian and Margaret Ann Dolan and family Ards on the death of his uncle Paddy Dolan, Corlough Co Cavan last week.

The seniors have first game of the Division Two League season is at home to Cloughaneely this Sunday 23rd March. The Lotto numbers drawn were 02, 03, 05, 09, 14, bonus number 1. There was no winner the €100 winner was Hannah Shiels, Fanavolty, while €50 went to Eamon McGeehan, Glenswilly. Next week’s jackpot is €2,250.
The seniors played Cloughaneely in the first round of the Gaeltacht last Saturday afternoon and came away with an excellent win. The amalgamated minor teams had mixed results as the first team proved to strong for Bundoran and the second team put up a brave performance only to lose out eventually to Naomh Conaill.
The club lotto jackpot stands at €9,000 as the draw took place last Monday night the jackpot was not won. Two lucky dip winners receive €50, Michael McCready, Corr Point and Joe Gallagher Farrigans. The numbers drawn were 1,3,13 and 19.

The closing date for membership is fast approaching and you will have another chance this Thursday from 7 to 8.30 to pay it, this will be the second last chance to register for 2014 so please come along on Thursday night. Club Donegal membership is also available, the club are offering members a chance to get this at a reduced cost of €120 which gives admittance to all club games in Donegal. All coaches and adults working with underage players must be garda vetted, forms are available from George Simmons.
The club would like to congratulate Cormac Callaghan, Ryan Toner and Gary McDaid who were part of the St. Eunan’s College squad who won the McLarnon Cup on St Patrick’s Day. Best wishes to them against Carrick V.S. on Saturday. Best wishes also go to all the children from Glenswilly NS who will receive the sacrament of confirmation on Saturday 22nd March and also to the pupils of Stramore NS who will be confirmed on Saturday 29th March.
On behalf of at the club we would like to congratulate Collaiste na Carriage on their Markey Cup victory over Virginia in Enniskillen last Thursday. It was a marvellous achievement for this area, to the players and management and all involved well done and best of luck in the All Irelands. We congratulate Neilly and Patrick for their involvement also. The seniors defeated Gleann Fhinne by 2-13 to 1-09 in the Gaeltacht last Saturday and they are away to Malin in the opening game of the league this Sunday. The reserve defeated in Gaoth Dobhair in the first round of the Junior Gaeltacht.
The U-14s had a good away win against Naomh Brid in their opening match of the season final score was Naomh Brid 2-7 Cill Chartha 3-5.The the team was C. Garvey, M O’Reilly, D O’Gara, E Byrne, C O’Leime, Kenny Doogan, R McShane, R O’Donnell, O Doogan, S McHugh, J Byrne, S Boyle, D Rowan, C Curran, L Gavigan. Subs used: D Byrne for M O’Reilly, E Love for D Rowan. A meeting of all managers from senior to under 8 both men and ladies will take place on Monday 24th March at 7.30 pm in Towney.
The Minor Board presents Stars in their Eyes on Easter Sunday 20th April tickets well be on sale from next week on. The last membership night will take place on Friday 21st of March in Towney from 8-9 pm. This year club cards are on sale at a reduced price of €120 this card entitles you fee entry into all club league and championship matches only 30 cards available contact John Curran. There are no jacket this year hence the price so get yours in time for the start of the league.

The under 14’s were away to St Naul’s at the weekend, and recorded a win. The senior team were away to Cloughaneely in the first round of the Gaeltacht competition, and a weakened team managed a victory, with minor star, Ethan O’ Donnell, coming on and scoring two goals.The league starts this coming Sunday, with Naomh Conaill away to Termon.

The club are staging a table quiz in aid of underage coaching taking place in Durkans Bar Ramelton on Friday 21st of March at 9pm. The last chance to register for all boys and girls aged from U8 to U18 interested in playing gaelic this year will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 21st of March from 6-7.30pm.
If you fancy improving your Irish, or are starting from scratch, or just want to come down and have the craic with an cupla focal why not join us for our Irish conversational language classes. Classes resume on Monday 24th of March at 6.30pm in the clubhouse and will continue throughout lent.
CLG BnaG is inviting girls between the ages of 8 and 12 to come along and try the game of Gaelic football in a fun way over a 12 week period. Training will take place on Friday evenings at the pitch in Milford from 6-7pm. Training starts on Friday 21st March with registration at 5.45pm (Registration for G4Gs, including a t-shirt is €8).
