The County U14 Hurling skills competition was held on Sunday at the Setanta hurling grounds. T
he competition tested the skills of the players in areas such as the long puc, free taking and scoring on the run to name but a few. The early morning start did not deter 15 of the top hurlers from the clubs across the county. It was great to see the young hurlers awarded such a high number of points due continuous training with highly skilled coaches including senior club and county hurlers. Kevin Campbell, Setanta & Senior Donegal Hurler, presented the trophies to the top three players.
Kyle Dillon of Setanta took first place with an outstanding 198 points. Pierce Harrigan of Burt was awarded second place with 166 points and Paddy Page of the Letterkenny Gaels took third with 143 points. Kyle Dillon will now go forward to represent the county in the National Skills Competition.
