The club’s lotto jackpot has reached €9,400 and the bingo Snowball is now stands at €8,750. Two incredible chances to win over €18,150. Good luck to the county U-21s in the Ulster semi-final on Wednesday night. Also best of luck to the county hurlers who take on Roscommon in the league final,in Markievicz Park, Sligo at 2 pm.

The U-14s played Castlefin, in MacCumhaill Park on Sunday morning. This was the first real test for these lads but with a midfield pair of Chad McSurley and Luke Gavigan, Castlefin found it hard to get up the field but did score four great points to some fine goals and points from a rampant Mac Cumhaills who led 4-5 to 0-4 at half time. The second half was more of the same with some great moves to win 6-10 to 2-7.

Well done to the Under 16 girls who made it two from two on Friday evening. They took on Na Magha from Derry. This was another very impressive display from the girls. The Minors suffereda disappointing loss to Glenfin at the weekend. See match report at www.seanmaccumhaills.com

The minor B team was in league action away to neighbors Naomh Mhuire and were defeated by three points. Good solid performance from the entire team where Ryan Connors, Conor and Aidan McCahill, Mark Curran, Ryan McGonagle, Christy Greene and Darragh McGlynn led by example. U14 Hurling League commenced on Thursday 27th March against a fancied Four Master’s team. Dungloe started well and had the best of the opening twenty minutes with some good attacking play. Four Masters slowly began to get a grip in the middle third and at half time the game was four points to two in favour of Four Masters. Dungloe should have led at the break and had some good chances in the first half and some score able frees missed.

The second half was unfortunately a different story with Four Masters dominant in the middle and Dungloe under pressure from puck outs and finding it difficult to get the ball into scoring territory. Four Masters added six point without reply during this period. In the last few minutes Dungloe conceded two goals to put any come back beyond doubt.

This was a difficult first game and one that overall the Dungloe team can be proud of in terms of their performance and which can be built on over the next seven league games. David Hanlon was outstanding at full back with Nicholas Wherely covering good ground on a lively half forward. Thomas Hartnett had a strong second half and his brother James Hartnett  was responsible for a lot of attacks and scores in the first. Harry Noble won a lot of possession in the half forward line and John Boyle, Andoran McGonigle look impressive in their first games. Kyle Wiggins was also impressive when he came on and marked his player very well. Brendan Boyle and Michael McNulty battled hard in their corner forward positions and were unlucky not to score goals in the first half, Gerard Glackin, Joseph Greene and Patrick Hunter also did well when they came on in the second half. Pierce Quinn and Joseph Doyle were also part of the team and will be keen to start next week. Next game v Setanta at home onThursday.

Maguire, never far of peak physical condition, has been fine tuning the kicking in the past few weeks and is said to be relishing the opportunity to have a crack at the boys from ‘in through.

The minors were in action for the second time in a week when they faced Kilcar in Fr Tierney Park, on Sunday morning. The visitors could only muster 14 players for the away trip and consequently both teams fielded 13 players. The final score was Aodh Ruadh 1-11 Kilcar 0-7. We have a gallery of pictures from the game up on aodhruadh.org. Naomh Conaill U-14s were taken by storm last Friday evening and they are still scratching their heads wondering where it all went wrong after the Aodh Ruadh lads hit town. The annual duck race will quack off on Easter Saturday 19th April. The cards are now available for this event, only €2 a line to sponsor a duck. The senior hurlers got their Ulster league campaign off to a cracking start on Sunday evening when they dispatched an below par Strabane Shamrocks side in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. Aodh Ruadh were without county star Paul Sheridan, who was ruled out when he picked up an injury in the warm-up, however were they well on top throughout and a 1-8 to 0-8 half-time score did not adequately reflect the Ernesiders superiority. Ballyshannon upped it in the second half and their superior fitness helped them come out on the right side of a 4-14 to 2-13 scoreline. Mickey Bowering hit the back of the net twice, while Paul Hughes and Ciaran Kilgannon also raised green flags for the homesters. Ciaran Rami made his senior debut and gave a very assured display at half back. Peter Horan started for Sheridan and did a lot of damage from half forward while Declan Browne showed his quality when sprung from the bench. Aodh Ruadh’s next assignment takes them to the venue that will become their second home over the coming few month, the Garvaghey complex in the heart of Tyrone. They will be taking on Sean Treacey’s of Lurgan on Sunday evening as they bid to maintain their winning start to the season.

The underage hurling leagues began last week. The under 14s opened their campaign in division one at home to St Eunan’s. St Eunan’s were very strong having won the last two U-12 county titlees. The greater strength and fitness of the Letterkenny men came to the fore in the second half and they ran out comfortable winners 4-10 to 1-3.

On Saturday last the Donegal minor team had a great win against Antrim in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny in division one of the Ulster minor League. The young Donegal team put in a great performance and had a historic victory on a scoreline of 3-10 to 3-6. Aodh Ruadh were well represented with Eddie Lynch captaining the team and Ciaran Rami and Eugene Drummond also starting. Oisín Roper, Brendan Gillespie and Dónal Sweeny were also on the squad, Oisín Rooney couldn’t take his place in the starting 15 due to injury.
