Oisin Crawford and Shane Carberry scored late goals as Glenswilly came from behind in the closing minutes to clinch their place in this afternoon’s final.
Naomh Conaill 0-11
Crawford hammered home the first goal eight minutes from the end to bring his side back to within a point of Naomh Conaill, who had the look of winners about them as they led by four points, 0-10 to 0-6.
Naomh Conaill, who trailed by a point, 0-2 to 0-3, seemed to have hit for home when they led 0-10 to 0-5 with a little over ten minutes remaining after Paddy Campbell introduced big hitters Dermot Molloy, Anthony Thompson and Marty Boyle.
Molloy (2), Darragh Gallagher (3) and Ciaran Thompson all clipped over points as Naomh Conaill looked in a different gear against a Glenswilly outfit sorely missing their ace forward Michael Murphy up front.
Murphy did not start due to a slight injury. However, he is expected to feature in this afternoon’s decider.
Neil Gallagher got the revival underway with an inspiration long range strike on 51 minutes and when Crawford hit the net the margin was down to a point and all of a sudden it was Naomh Conaill who were on the back foot.
And when Gary McFadden scored his third point of the day the teams were level, 1-7 to 0-10, for the fourth time.
Darragh Gallagher edged Naomh Conaill back in front but Carberry had the final say when he first timed past McGrath for the clinching score and a place in the final.
