Donegal have been awarded a walkover victory over Derry in the Ulster Minor League fixture that was to take place on Saturday.

A brief statement from the Donegal County Board read: “The Donegal V Derry UMFL, scheduled to take place in Celtic Park this Saturday the 5th of April has been conceded by Derry.”

It is understood that with up to 15 players involved with St Pat’s of Maghera, who are in preparation for next weekend’s Hogan Cup final against Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, Derry are unable to fulfil the fixture. The Oak Leafs also have a list of injuries and illness.

Declan Bonner’s team now have six points from their Group A campaign with the two points that will be picked up from the Celtic Park adding to the 1-16 to 1-5 win over Fermanagh and the 1-11 to 2-6 victory over Tyrone. Donegal will visit Antrim on Saturday week, April 12, in the final outing of Group A.
