Gleann Fhinne

The lotto numbers for 19/11/13 for a jackpot of €1850 were 2, 5, 6, 4, 7, 1, 8, 3. Gerard McCool matched the first 4 numbers and won €60. Next week’s jackpot is €1900. The club are hosting a Night at The Races, in Harkins Bar, Brockagh on Sunday 22nd of December. Horses are currently on sale from any adult club players/members. Horses are €20 each with over €2500 in prize money on the night. Please lend your support, with funds going towards ongoing development works in the club, specifically our new training field. Reminder for all Sellers that all sold horses must be returned by December 1st. The U-15s were defeated by Fanad on Sunday morning in Pairc Taobhoige.

The 2013 club presentation night will be held on December 27th in the Blue Haven, Tickets will be on sale shortly.Good luck to Glenswilly who play in the Ulster Final this Sunday.

The club agm will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 6th December starting at 8pm. All members are welcome to attend. All nominations and motions are to be with the secretary (Sean Faulkner) in writing before 30th November. We would ask all members to make the effort to attend on the evening. There was no jackpot winner this week drawn on the 18th of November; the numbers were 2, 3, 4 and 8. The €50 runner-up prize goes to Hannah Lafferty. Next week’s jackpot will be €1,200. Taking place in January you will host a meal for a few of your friends to raise money for the club, and be in with a chance of winning an amazing prize. New Year’s Eve charity walk or run for all abilities. Walk off those Christmas calories. The club will be hosting a charity walk / run on New Years Eve with all money raised going to deserving charities. Keep an eye out for further details. Club membership is now open for anyone who wishes to sign up: Juveniles €5, student €10, adult €20, family (up to 18 years) €30 and family with lotto for a year €100. County Board levies must be paid before end of January so important that all memberships are paid before that time. The minor ladies were triumphant against St Pauls (Belfast) winning their Ulster semi-final by a score of 5-19 to 0-10, they will play Sean O’Neills (Armagh) in the Ulster final, date and time tbc. Congratulations to Tony Mc Clenaghan who was part of the Coláistí MccLarnon Cup team who won their way through to the quarters finals with a convincing win in their final group game. They topped the group with three wins from three games.

Commiserations to Pauric Skelly, Patrick Faulkner and Eoghan Gillen who were part of the Coláistí Inis Eoghain team that narrowly lost out in the Corn na nÓg quarter final by a single point last Friday. The U-6 players of the week this week were Luke McAleer and Emma Jane Kelly. U-8 players of the week were Matthew Harkin and Boby Kelly. Underage training has resumed on Saturday mornings with new times due to pitch development.

The U8, U10 and U12 girls and boys underage presentation will take place in Clubhouse on Friday 13th December from 7-9pm. Food and disco from7-9pm, €3 per child. Toddlers and U6s presentation will occur after their training session on Saturday 14th December.

Naomh Colmcille

Minor Board Gerard McFadden (Chairperson), Dennis Kennedy (secretary). Naomh Colmcille are now seeking applications for the position of senior team manager. St Mary’s(Convoy)

Well Done to the U-15 boys who beat Buncrana in the Northern Championship Final, in O Donnell Park, on Sunday.Buncrana opened the scoring and then St Mary’s settled into to the game and scored two points in succession. Keeper Paul Kelly made a fine save to keep Buncrana at bay. As half time neared the sides were level till Aaron McCready found the back of the net 1-03 to 0-3 at half-time.

Buncrana started the stronger and with three unanswered points they were soon level. The St Mary’s lads dug deep with Kevin Bonner and Conor Rodgers working Hard and Scores from Jerome Duffy and Kevin Bonner was enough to secure the win. St Mary’s scorers were A.Mc Cready 1-1, Jerome Duffy 0-3, Kevin Bonner 0-2. The following people will be taking part in our Fight Night on Saturday 30th of November. The Royal Flush Draw results for the weekend of 24/11/2013 were 5, 7, 11 & 14. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2340. Consolation prizes went to Gerard Ellison, Nicole and Cassie McIntyre and Kelly McCracken. Next week’s jackpot now stands at €2380 and it will be held in Mary Murrins. Congratulations to our Under 16 team who made history for the club winning the Divisone One county title against St Eunans on Saturday last for the first time since the club was reformed back early 1980s as Dungloe. Great credit to the entire panel and the management of Eugene McGarvey and his backroon team of Martin, Benny and John for a huge effort in 2013. Well done Allanagh McGlynn through to county final of solo singing at scor next Saturday in Glenswilly. Our ballad group were excellent but just missed out to St Eunansand Cloughaneely GAA groups. Movember will finish on Saturday night the 30th where all the Mo’s will gather after the agm to determine who raised the most money and who grew the worst and best moustache. Paddy the singing barber will judge the Mo’s and Dave will provide the karaoke, so come along any time after 10pm for a good

nights fun and a worthy cuase. The money raised will be shared between local charities. There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €1200. The sequence drawn was 4-3-2-5-7-6-1. The 50 euro lotto winner Michael Diffley, Malin Town. The 20 euro sellers prize goes to Mc Cleans Bar, Malin Town. There was no winner this week with Andrew Gallagher, Station Rd, winning the €80 consolation prize. Next week’s Jackpot is a huge €1770. The minor board presentation will take place in the clubhouse on Friday the 29th of November at 6.30. The club are now taking applications for senior and reserve manager. The club, players and supporters would like to send there thanks to senior manager Brian McCabe and reserve manager Glen Campbell for all there hard work and achievements in 2013 for the respective teams. We are proud to call this an annual event now within the club. It will take place on St. Stephen’s Day with registration at the club house from 11am and the race kicking off at 12pm from the car park. Entry fee is €10 per Adult, €20 per family. Letterkenny Gaels

Our AGM scheduled for Sunday next has been postponed to allow our members travel to Omagh to support our neighbours Glenswilly in the Ulster final.It has been rescheduled for Sunday the 8th December at 1.30pm The underage indoor training continues.

Four Masters

There was no overall jackpot winner in the club winner this week. The two €50 winners were, Deborah Dunnion, Bru na Mara, Donegal Town and Gerry Timoney, Doonan, Donegal Town. The U- 21B championship final replay between Aodh Ruadh and Burt takes place this Saturday. Unfortunately, at the time of mailing we still did not have confirmation of a final venue.

The Bord na nÓg AGM has been rescheduled to this Sunday 1st December at 7pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh.The Ladies AGM took place last Friday. There was a review of 2012 and a beneficial discussion about the coming season. The following appointments were made. The clubs AGM will take place in McCready’s Bar on Friday 6th December starting at 8pm sharp. The club 50 draw took place last Monday evening in the hall.Congratulations to Michael McCready who won the top prize of 300 euro and to Michael Bonner who won 100 euro.

The wait is almost over, its all roads leading to Healy park on Sunday, for the clubs historic appearance in the Ulster Senior Club Football final.

The lads have completed their preparations and are ready to compete at this most demanding level.

The part played by our supporters on Sunday will be crucial. We all have to get there in huge numbers and be as vocal as possible and for another time help get our team over the line.

We wish Gary and his backroom team and the entire panel all the best on Sunday and to let you know we believe in you and are behind you all the way.

Congratulations to all involved in last Friday nights “Up For The Match” event held in the club hall. What an overall success. The turnout on the night was phenomenal. Young and old alike listened attentively as MC Charlie Collins masterly interviewed past and present members of our great club. It was a highly interesting night in terms of the stories around the foundation of the club, its successes on the field of play and the major developments that have been carried out over the years. We thank Sraithemoire NS children under the guidance of Principal Trease McMonagle and teacher Frank McGlynn and the chlidren on Glenswilly NS under Mrs Geraldine Galligan for their wonderful singing. Thanks to Miss Cliona Heena for her singing and help with the ballad group and all the musicians and dancers who performed on the night. A big thank you to the invited panelists of Declan Bonner,Charlie Mulgrew,Chris McNulty and Alan Foley for their input on the night. Thanks to Charlie Collins who conducted matters so professionally. Thanks to Colm “Gooch” Cooper who visited the Club earlier in the week and partook in an interview that was screened on the night. A huge thank you to the tea ladies who provided tea and sandwiches for everyone. As always Dietmar Goppert ensured the sound system was top class on the night, thank you. To everyone who helped in any way, the overwhelming success of the night was due to your contribution.

The under 15s are through to the Nothern Divisional final after defeating Muff yesterday in a hard fought game. Date of the next game will be confirmed later.

The next club meeting will be on Wednesday the 5th of December at eight o clock in the clubhouse.

The senior board presentation night is on Saturday December 28th in the Clock Tower. Presentations to the 25 year Jubilee teams of 1988 the senior and junior B championship winners. Sean MacCumhaills

The presentation night for the U-12s to U-16s will take place in the clubhouse this Friday 29th at 8pm. The club is running a Couch to 5k programme at the clubhouse. It’ll run every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.17 pm and lasts approx 45 minutes. Its only €2 a session. Please contact Simon on 0851503092 for more details. There were no winners of this weeks lotto. The Club AGM is scheduled to take place at 7pm on the 7th of December in the clubhouse. On Saturday night last a very successful semi-final of Scor na nOg took place in the Parochial Hall in Milford with eight clubs taking part in front of a full house. In the instrumental music section all the groups were very good so we were delighted when our own group of Kyle Macaulay, Eoin Orr, Barry Orr, Kevin Egan and Maeve McCotter Kelly, along with St Eunans, qualified for the final. This years All County Quiz will take place at 9pm on Friday 29th November in the Travellers Inn, Milford. The winning team on the night will progress to the All County Quiz final. Entry is €5 per person and teams of four maximum. This years dinner dance sure to be a great night due to the fantastic success of our senior mens and ladies teams this year. While our Gaelic for Mothers & Others team also made great strides. Entertainment on the night will be provided by Paul McCahill and DJ Mo. This is a ticket only event, get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
