The annual dinner dance takes place on 22nd Feb in Jacksons with music by the popular Beef Steak Dancers. Tickets are €25 and are available from any committee member. A fundamentals course will take place on 21st /22nd February. All coaches /helpers are requested to return their Garda Vetting forms by Friday to Conor or any of the coaches.

The Lotto numbers for 11/02/14 for Jackpot of €2450 were 8, 3, 7, 2, 1, 5, 6,4.The jackpot was not won. Next week’s Jackpot is €2500. Congratulations to Glenfin members who were successful on Friday in the cumann na mbunscoil county finals. Ronan McCormack and Matthew Woottoon won the U11 Boys Doubles (Taobhóg). Odhran Mc Glynn won the U13 Boys Singles (Coimín) and Lauren Martin and Shannon Dohert won the U13 Girls Doubles (Dooish). They will now represent Donegal in the Ulster finals of Cumann na mBunscoil.
As a mark of respect to the Doherty family, the club Dance has been postponed until Friday the 21st of February. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

The clubs 52nd AGM takes place on Saturday 1st March 2014 in the clubhouse with proceedings starting at a new time of 4pm and not 5pm as previously stated. A huge congrats to club footballer Mark Gottsche who last weekend was involved in the Connaught panel that defeated Munster in the Inter-Provincial semi final in Tuam. Mark is now in his third year at the club has been a regular in the London team for the past two seasons and has been rewarded for his performances with this accolade.
The club are holding a fundraising Race Night in the Boardwalk Bar, Pinner Road, North Harrow on Saturday 8th March at 8pm. All members are requested to sell a race card which can be obtained from club secretary Stephen McLoughlin on 07788723922 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Youth board AGM takes place on Friday 28th February in the clubhouse with an 8.30pm start.
TCG ladies will start back training on 22nd February at 11am in Greenford. The weekened Lotto Jackpot was £1,400. The numbers drawn were 3-19-20-23. There was no jackpot winners. Last week’s Fun Fridays Gaelic was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. It resumes (weather permitting) this Friday (21st) from 6.30 to 7.30 pm. €2 per child and everybody is welcome. Dress for the weather and bring a drink!!

Well done to all who represented the club in Scor Sinsir in the Colgan Hall,Carndonagh on Saturday night. We have three acts through to the county final in Glenswilly on Friday February 28th. Kieran Friel got through in the solo singing. Shaun McDaid, Eamon McGonigle, Ciaran Doherty and Kieran Friel are through in the traditional music act. Finally, Shaun McDaid,Kieran Friel, Ciaran Doherty and Ryan Ivers are through in the ballad group section. Thanks to all who bought tickets and attended the Charity Dance on Saturday night in the Strand Hotel in aid of the new club house. The minor board in association with other sporting groups and Colaiste na Carraige are organising a heart screening day in Colaiste na Carraige on Saturday 22nd February from 10 am to 11:30am. Boys and girls aged between 14 and 18 years (ie. born between 31/12/95 and 22/02/2000) and have not been screened before are eligible. The subsidised cost to all club members is €20 per child. Information will be forwarded shortly to all parents of children eligible. We are also offering this service to all adult players (male and female) between 18 and 35 but at the full cost of €45 (Students €20). Club members only. Any adult who wants to be screened should contact Kevin Lyons or John Carr before Friday 14th February. The club firmly recommends that all children over 14 and all adults who are playing sport should avail of this service. There is a child protection course in the Aislann on Friday night anyone involved with children must have this course done, contact Fiona McGinley for details. Cill Cartha have been drawn at home against Gleann Fhinne in the first round of the 2014 Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta while our second team have an away tie against Gaoth Dobhair, dates TBC.
There was disappointment for our 21s who were defeated by Tyrone champions Clonoe O’Rahilly’s by two points in the Ulster quarter finals. Entrance on the day will be €15 – but tickets can be bought online or at Centra outlets for €10. A big congratulations to the Mulroy College Girls Senior Soccer team on winning the All Ireland B title last week and especially to all the Fanad and Kerrykeel girls on the team. The whole club are very proud of you.

Ray Durack, manager of the Nicky Rackard winning Donegal senior hurlers has been announced as special guest for our Dinner Dance on Saturday, 22nd February. The event commences at 8pm with a banquet in Dorrian’s Hotel, followed by awards and music from the TLs. A reminder of the nominations for the individual award categories. Senior footballer of the year: Kerry Ryan, Peter Boyle and Anthony Boyle. Reserve footballer of the year: David McLoone, Aidan Murray and Ciaran Slevin. Under 21 footballer of the year: Conor Patton, Ronan McGurrin and Gary Carty. Senior hurler of the year: Conor McNeely, Tommy Gillespie and Shane McNulty. Ladies player of the year: Tanya O’Shea, Elaine Dorrian and Anna Rafferty. Our young footballer of the year and young hurler of the year will be announced on the night. The Frank O’Neill cup continues to attract good interest and deliver some fine football. Last weekend saw the semi-final line-up confirmed with Oisín Kerr’s team to meet Daniel Warnock’s team, while Jason Granaghan’s team will take on Gareth Sheerin’s. Notification on semi-final dates and times will follow in due course. Under 16 training continues at 7pm this Friday.
The under 14s will become the first side in the club to kick a ball in anger during the 2014 season when they travel to Glencolumbcille to take on Naomh Columba this Sunday at 12 noon. Players to assemble at the Park for a 10am departure to Glen. Preparatory to that game. With last week’s training having been cancelled, we will have results for the skills test on Friday’s training. Remember, this is a benchmark score, the aim is to improve on it over the course of the year. We will be recognising the lads who show the most improvement, as well as those with the most points overall at the end of the year. Indoor training continues on Friday 21st February.

Senior inter-county hurling returned to Fr Tierney Park last Sunday and it saw Donegal earn a handsome 2-19 to 1-13 win over Fermanagh. A modest but enthusiastic ground were present on an ideal day for hurling and the Tir Chonaill men made the most of it. Aodh Ruadh had five representatives on the Donegal squad. Paul Sheridan started at midfield with Ciaran Kilgannon coming on at wing half forward. Ankle injury meant Ciaran’s spell on the pitch was brief, but he did manage to register a point in that period. Stephen Sheerin, Paul Hughes and Chris Kilgannon were also on the panel. We have some pictures from the game up on aodhruadh.org. Well done to Eddie Lynch who has been appointed captain of the Donegal minor hurling team for 2014. Recreational football continues this Saturday at 7pm under the lights at Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh and once again the emphasis is very much on the craic. It’s excellent value at just €5 for the session. Club Donegal rates to be confirmed in the coming weeks. A bake sale and raffle for U-14 and U-16 girls will take place on Sunday the 23rd of February at11.30 am in the Foresters Hall. Pairc Eamon O’Beirne and the practice pitch are closed until further notice. No matches, training or shooting practice is allowed as the goal mouth’s have been resowed. The old pitch is still open for training.
Club membership is now due. Committee members will call to your area in the coming days. The clubs monthly draw “club 50” will start a new season with the first draw taking place next Monday evening 24th. This is a hugely popular draw and a great fundraiser for the club. Anybody interested in joining club 50 should contact Pat or Felix or any committee member as soon as possible.

There will be a club registration afternoon this Saturday, March 4th in the clubhouse at 4pm. It is not only vital for players to pay due to insurance, but that general members do so so they can avail of tickets for Donegal games in the near future. Royal Flushdraw results for the weekend of 16/02/2014 were 11, 12, 17 and 23. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2780. Consolation prizes went to Francis Diver, John Shovlin, Castletown and Edward Kyles. A big thank you must go to all who attended our Club Dinner Dance on Saturday night last in the Abbey Hotel. 125 people were in attendance and all had a very enjoyable night. Thanks goes to the Abbey Hotel and their staff for the wonderful meal and reception and to The Bees Nees who provided the evening’s entertainment.

Good luck to the eight St. Michael’s Clubmen who are part of the PCC team playing in the semi final of the Arthur Cup on today Thursday.
There was no Jackpot winner in the Mini Lotto on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 4,10,11,12,15,16. All parents of girls intending to play Under 14 or Under 16 football must attend this meeting. Failure to do so may result in these teams not going ahead this year. The U14 games are due to start on Tuesday 15th April 2014 so it is very important that we get the girls registered. We are currently without a manager so if anyone is interested in training/managing these girls we would be very grateful if they would put themselves forward.

Minor managers are Liam Kelly, Hugh O’Donnell, Joe Horan, Trevor Stewart, Shane McFadden. The Under- 16 manager is Mickey McFadden, Under-14 manager -Martin McGarvey, Under-12 - manager Manus Friel, Under-10 manager - To Be Confirmed, Under- 8 Manager - Hugh Doyle. A Foundation Course is being held on this Friday and Saturday the 7th and 8th February in An Croibheann Termon from 8.30pm. Friday night incorporates a Child Protection element and on Saturday beginners coaching will be covered. This course is recommended for anyone planning to coach underage players. Unfortunately the Parish League is postponed owing to adverse weather affecting the pitch. Registration will still take place on this Sunday the 23rd at the Clubhouse from 1pm until 2pm for all players. Player names need to be registered with the county board by early March before fixtures begin.
The seniors played St Eugenes , Castlederg last Saturday. It was a comprehensive win for MacCumhaills on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-03. We are looking for people who would be interested in representing the club at a Strictly Come Dancing in the Villa Rose at Easter. Full training will be given by expert coaches. Congratulations to the County hurlers who had a comprehensive win over Fermanagh at the weekend. Membership fees are now due. If you have not paid your membership by 31st March it will affect your voting rights at the AGM and will affect your ticket allocation. Under 6’s. The 6’s will start back training on the Wed 26th Feb from 6-7pm. Training for this group will be in St Columbas Hall until the weather improves. The club has been selected as one of two Donegal clubs to host a prestigious girls football promotion. Milford and Bundoran have been chosen to host the successful Gaelic4Girls Programme.
G4G is a 12 week programme incorporating coaching sessions with fun non-competitive blitzes aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between 8-12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies Gaelic Football club. The undoubted highlight for each club is that their teams get to showcase their new skills in Croke Park with over 1,000 other players. The programme will begin early April.
With prizes ranging from a trip for 2 to the 2014 International Rules series in Australia to a trip for 2 to New York for St Patricks day 2015, the GAA’s National Draw which takes place this year in Croke Park on St Patricks day. As well as the prizes in the national draw, every ticket bought within the Club will be entered into our own Club draw also. Tickets cost €10 and are available from all Club Executive members. Draw for the Club prizes will take place on St Patricks day in the Clubhouse. Our G4M+O training is on Monday evening at 7.30.
G4M+O is an initiative that is run by LGFA to introduce mothers and other woman to play gaelic, it sees women playing gaelic in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. Being a mother is not a necessity but all participants must be 18 plus and NOT be playing competitively in a club team. All new members welcome. For more information call Marti Barrett on 0872768714.
*Ladies Preseason Training*
Ladies preseason continues on Wednesdays from 7-8pm.
This weeks lotto numbers were 1-2-17-19. No jackpot winner, no match 4 or 3, two entries drawn get 35 euro each, Martina Grier & Seamie Burke. Jackpot next week is €560.
