The Lotto numbers numbers drawn for the jackpot of €2400 were 3,7, 2, 5, 6, 8,1,4. Brendan Marley and Evelyn McLaughlin matched the first three and won €30 each.Next week’s Jackpot is €2450. The club will be holding a Buffet Dance in lieu of the cancelled Dinner Dance. It will be in Harkin’s Bar on Saturday 15th of February. If you are interested in going contact Kathleen McGlynn. Congratulations to Glenfin members who were successful on Friday in the Cumann Na mBunscoil county handball finals. Ronan Mc Cormack and Matthew Woottoon won the U11 Boys Doubles (Taobhóg). Odhran McGlynn won the U13 Boys Singles (Coimín) and Lauren Martin and Shannon Doherty who won the U13 Girls Doubles (Dooish).
They will all now represent Donegal in the Ulster Finals in Glenfin Alley next Thursday 13th February.
There was no jackpot winner this week. The numbers were 7, 8, 14 and 16. The €50 runner-up prize goes to Anna Thompson. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,300. We would like to appeal for more Lotto sellers as it is out main source of income.
Tickets may be purchased from any member at a cost of €10 for entry into the GAA National Prize Draw. There are ten amazing prizes on offer and all proceeds are retained within your local club.

Well done to the Colaisti Inis Eoghain team who defeated St Patrick’s Downpatrick (Red High) in the quarter finals of the Danske Bank McLarnon Cup. The club is represented on this team by Tony McClenaghan. Well done also to Moville Community College students Ultan Doherty, Jordan McLaughlin, James Jackson, and Aidan McLaughlin who played in the quarter final.
Underage training will continue this Saturday. GAGA for GAA and U6 from 10-11. U8 boys and girls, and U12 girls from 11-12. U10 boys and girls and U12 boys will take place on Thursday nights from 7-8:30. U6 player of week Rebecca Boyle & Beibhin Doherty. U8 Player of week Daithi Peto and Roan Doherty, well done to them.

Well done to the senior players and club members who took part in a 5k run to raise funds to support local man Mark Farren who is currently going through treatment for cancer at the minute in a Belfast hospital. We all here at Moville GAA club wish Mark a speedy recovery.

Fun Fridays Gaelic resumed on Friday with another great turnout of boys and girls. It continues (weather permitting) this Friday (14th) from 6.30 to 7.30 pm. €2 per child and everybody is welcome. The Club are now taking Registrations for Adults, Family, Senior and underage players. Cost is €25 Adult, €50 Family, €50 senior player and €10 underage player. Naomh Colmcille and Fanad Gaels are holding a Fight Night fundraising event at The Silver Tassie, Letterkenny on 16 March 2014. Training continues this week in Danny Ryan’s at Mountain Top, Letterkenny. Tickets for the event will be available early shortly. See the Facebook ‘Fight Night’ page for updates. The GAA has launched a National Club Draw as a fundraiser for local clubs, with the draw taking place on 17th March 2014. Prizes with a total value of €30,000 are being provided by GAA Central Council. The proceeds from all tickets sold by Naomh Colmcille will go directly to Naomh Colmcille, and will be used towards the club’s 2014 yearly expenditure. Congratulations to Eddie and Margaret Friel on their 50th wedding anniversary.

The clubs 52nd AGM takes place on Saturday 1st March 2014 in the clubhouse with proceedings starting at 5pm. The club are delighted to announce the junior management team for the coming season.
Ricky Williamson takes on the manager’s position for a second term with a support team involving Michael Cunningham, Stevie Keane, Michael Mullan and Chris McGovern. The ladies will start back training on 22nd February at 11am in Greenford. Bar staff Lois and Andy who got engaged before Christmas are having a celebration engagement party in the clubhouse this Saturday 15th February.
The happy couple invite anybody associated with the club to come along a great nights Craic which starts at 7pm with drinks and hot buffet followed by music.The club would like to pass on our best wishes to club stalwart Frank Glynn who “celebrated” a milestone birthday last week.

The seniors took to the field in MacCumhaill Park on Saturday evening for this first round of the Ulster League. The opposition on the night were Greenlough from Derry. The first half started brightly for MacCumhaills with a couple of early points. Greenlough settled into and the rest of the half was even 0-3 at half-time.The second half was very much the same as the first, with both teams showed signs of being rusty. The final score was Mac Cumhaills 0-9 Grennlough 0-6. Scorers for MacCumhaills were Rory Dunleavy 0-1, Ryan Duffy 0-1, Pat McNulty 0-1, Steven O’Reilly 0-1, Conor Patton 0-1, David White 0-4(2f). We make the short trip to Castlederg next Sunday.

The minor board in association with other sporting groups and Colaiste na Carraige are organizing a heart screening day in Colaiste na Carraige on Saturday 22nd February from 10 am to 11.30am. Boys and girls aged between 14 and 18 years (ie. born between 31/12/95 and 22/02/2000) and have not been screened before are eligible. The subsidised cost to all club members is €20 per child. Information will be forwarded shortly to all parents of children eligible. We are also offering this service to all adult players (male and female) between 18 and 35 but at the full cost of €45 (Students €20). Club members only. Any adult who wants to be screened should contact Kevin Lyons or John Carr before Friday 14th February. The club firmly recommends that all children over 14 and all adults who are playing sport should avail of this service.

The Donegal Club Development Course takes place on Tuesday evening 18th February in Jacksons Hotel. The workshops to be delivered are Child Protection, Fundraising for your club, Communications and Media, Mental Health & Wellbeing within your club and the GAA Rule Book. Registration will take place in the Church of the Irish Martyrs community room this Sunday 16th February and Sunday 9th March from 2-4pm each day. There will be foundation level Football and Hurling coaching courses taking place in Convoy (F) and MacCumhaill entre (H) on the 21st and 22nd February. The GAA have recently launched a national Club Draw as a fundraiser for all clubs. The draw will take place on St Patricks Day. Some excellent prizes with the 1st Prize a trip to Australia. The funds from all ticket sales will remain with the club. Tickets are priced at €10. For more details contact the club executive. The senior manager position has been fullfilled by Shay Murrin. Training will commence on Tuesday at 7.30pm sharp in the practice pitch. All the best to the new management and the senior panel in the coming year. Pairc Eamon O’Beirne and the practice pitch are closed until further notice. No matches, training or shooting practice is allowed as the goal mouth’s have been resowed. The old pitch is still open for training etc. There were no winners of this weeks Killotto Jackpot. The Killotto numbers were 14,17,26,28. Match three was not won also. Next weeks Killotto jackpot is €900.

The Frank O’NeillCup for U-14s and U-16s is currently in progress on Sunday afternoons. We are getting big numbers turning out, with highly entertaining games and great craic. Senior inter county hurling returns to Fr Tierney Park this Sunday after a long absence. Nicky Rackard Cup holders Donegal begin their Allianz National Hurling League Campaign with a game against neighbours Fermanagh with the throw in at 2pm.
Underage hurling training for all ages begins on Sunday 2nd March at 12 noon in Fr Tierney Park, helmets and hurls will be provided for training. Notes will be distributed through the schools after mid-term break. For any information please contact John Rooney 086-2587793.

Down coaching specialist Steven Poacher took a very useful coaching workshop last Saturday in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. Thanks to the players who let Steven put them through their paces and also to the coaches who were present. Many thanks also to Pauric McShea whose sponsorship helped make this event happen and also to our recreational footballers who underwrote the cost of the workshop. Thank you to everyone who supported the social night for Jim Kane in the Bridgend last Saturday. The night was a great success with Brian O’Sullivan keeping the socialisers well entertained throughout the evening.
Ray Durack, manager of the Nicky Rackard winning Donegal senior hurlers has been announced as special guest for our Dinner Dance on Saturday, 22nd February. As Spring is now here if you’re tidying up about the house save yourself the cost of hiring a skip and help your local club fund-raise. Fr Tierney Park will be open this Saturday from 12 noon to 2pm. to drop off scrap metal for recycling to raise much needed funds for Aodh Ruadh and to help protect the environment. If you have any scrap metal such as gates, washing machines, cookers, car batteries or the like, please bring them to Fr Tierney Park this Saturday. The ladies team is now up and running and coaches Hazel White and Hugh McClafferty have asked that anyone interested in getting involved to come along to training on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7 to 8 in the hall.

Our under8s/10s are to commence training this Sunday at 10.30am. in the Game on Facility (old unifi building),so any young boys or girls wishing to get their football careers up and running are welcome to come along. The Scor team are competing this Saturday February 5th in Carandonagh.Tickets For the GAA draw are on sale at €10 each or three for €20, the prizes are excellent such as a trip for two to the International Rules game later this year in Australia. Both the club’s seniors and reserves have drawn St. Michael’s in Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta. Adrian Brennan’s seniors travel to the Bridge on March 15 while Mark Cassidy’s side welcome the same opposition to Pearse Park the same day.
There is a quiz taking place in Cassidy’s Bar, Dublin tonight, Wednesday, February 12 at 9pm. All proceeds go to the Ardara GAA Field Development Fund. The Ardara Duathlon will take place on Sunday, February 23 and will include a 10k cross country run as well as a 30k cycle. Registration will be accepted on the morning of the event at the dressing rooms in Pearse Memorial Park from 9-9.45am. The race will commence at 10am. The entry fee is €20 and everyone is welcome to participate. It is mandatory to use a mouth guard in all football matches and training sessions from January 1, 2014 for all age grades. Players will not be allowed to field without mouth guards so it is essential that all ensure they make themselves compliant with this rule at their earliest convenience.

The finals of the Minor Board National Schools Indoor Gaelic League took place on Friday with six schools taking part. Thanks to all the children and teachers for putting in such a big effort.
