Yearbook: All clubs are asked to begin compiling their material for inclusion in the Donegal 2013 Yearbook, the deadline for submission of same shall be Monday 27th

October. A guide to what is required for the yearbook was sent out to all club Pros last week .

Club Tir Chonaill: A major fundraising initiative by Club Tir Chonaill, in an effort to push forward the Donegal Gaa Training Centre in Convoy, is now available on the Donegal Gaa Website, all members of the Gaa community and members of the public both at home and abroad are asked to get involved in helping to build the future of Donegal Gaa, by investing in the campaign by purchasing plots of land in the new Training centre pitches for E20 each, it could not be simpler, just go to the Donegal website click on the Buy a Piece of History picture and you can pick your plotyou will then be dircted to the Pay Pl system to make your donation,,alternatively you can join by contacting either Club Tir Chonaill chairman Cieran Kelly or Grace Boyle county treasurer, all participants will be entered in a draw, 1st Prize E2000, 2nd Prize E1000, 3rd Prize E500.

Defibrillator Course: Any Clubs interested in doing a Defibrillator Course, minimum numbers for this course are eight people at a cost of E24 each, if interested please contact Niall Erskine with preferred dates. Child Awareness Courses: Clubs who wish to have the above Course carried out in their Club area should contact the County Administrator Noreen Doherty.

Level 3 Coaching Course: At LYIT commencing Wednesday,16th October, 2013.

This course is open to participants who are Level 2 Coaches and are currently actively involved in coaching for their Club /County teams. Further details from Mick Murphy, GDM.

Level 2 Football Coaching Course: At Glenswilly commencing, Friday / Saturday, 8-9th November, 2013 and also the following weekend, 15-16th November, 2013. This Course is open to participants who are Level 1 Coaches and who are currently actively involved in coaching for their Clubs / County teams.

Championship draw: The draw for the Raidio na Gaeltachta semi finals took place in ODonnell Pk on Sunday evening after the final quarter final game, Gleann tSuili will now face Ard an Ratha, on Saturday 5th October in McCumhaill Pk, at 7-30pm while Malainn will take on Na Ceala Beaga, on Sunday the 6th October also in McCumhaill Pk at 3pm.

Under 12 Hurling Mini-League: he U12 Finals will be as follows: First named team has home advantage. All matches to be played to a finish in the case of a draw extra time of two 5 minute halves to be played.

All finals to be played on Thursday 19th September 2013. All matches to start at 6.30

A final: St Eunans v Four Masters. B Final: Buncrana v Aodh Ruadh. C Final: Burt v Gaoth Dobhair. D Final: Sean McCumhaills v Carndonagh. E Final: Setanta v Letterkenny Gaels

As can be seen from the fixtures above, a feast of hurling will take place on 19th September. Both South and West Donegal are well represented in these finals and it is anticipated that they will all be very sporting and closely fought games.

Thanks to John McConnell for coordinating the event and the Ardara club for hosting the under 8s finals day last Saturday. An excellent mornings football. Well done to all clubs who took part and to all concerned.

Saturday 28th is the date of the under 10s finals day. Venue & times will be confirmed in the coming days.

Southern Minor Board Meeting

Please note that the next SRB monthly meeting will take place on Thursday the 19th September 2013 at 8pm in Dohertys Bar, Ardara. Its important that all clubs are represented at the meeting.

U-14 Development Squad - South

Training continues for the u14 Southern Development Squad this Sunday at 10.30 in Ballyshannon. All of the squad are expected to attend and anyone unable to make it should contact John McEniff at 0872386250.

Training continues for the U14s Southwest Development Squad this Sunday at 10am in Ardara. All players to report the changing rooms for 10am sharp. Any problems contact Paddy Hegarty.

Ardara and Naomh Conaill to Contest U16s League Final

Ardara had 2 points to spare in their league semi final replay win against Dungloe last Monday evening and now face neighbours Naomh Conaill in the under 16s league final. The game was played in Glenties in very difficult conditions and again they went in at half time all level 0-5 to Dungloe’s 1-2.This was the 5th time these 2 teams met in 3 weeks in both league and championship fixtures and it dosen’t end their as they go hammer and tongs again this Friday night in the championship replay.

The Southern board would like to thank Naomh Conaill for the use of their pitch & facilities.
