Kilcar may not enter Ulster U-21 club championship

The participation of Donegal U-21 champions Kilcar in the Ulster U-21 club competition run by the Creggan Kickhams club in Belfast is in serious doubt.

Kilcar had a bye in the preliminary round after Erne Gaels of Belleek withdrew and are due to play Clonoe of Tyrone on Sunday, 9th February.

However, with Donegal playing Galway in the National League on the same day, Kilcar would be without both Patrick McBrearty and Ryan McHugh. They would also be without Eoin McHugh, who fractured a bone in his foot in a challenge game playing with Sligo IT.

Kilcar club chairman, Michael McShane, said that they had been touch with the Creggan Kickhams club about alternative dates for the fixture but had not yet heard back from them. Ideally they would like to play their game the week after the Galway Allianz League Division Two game on weekend of 16th February, but it is unlikely that the fixtures will be altered.
