All roads lead to the Great Northern Hotel Bundoran for the 26th Annual Ulster GAA Writers’ Banquet tomorrow evening (Friday) at 7.30 pm.
Last year the Writers’ picked their best team of the past 25 years that included stellar names like Greg Blaney, Henry Downey and Kieran McGeeney.
And it was also a very special year for Donegal as the Sam Maguire cup was a very special guest.
This year the focus is once again on those teams and individuals who have excelled the province of Ulster in the past 12 months.
Monaghan footballers ended a 25 year famine in taking the Anglo Celt trophy while Tyrone minor footballers narrowly missed out on All-Ireland glory.
And Cavan Under 21 footballers continue as kingpins of Ulster.
The Writers also have a Monthly Merit award that runs for twelve months and Glenswilly genius Michael Murphy picked up the award for October.
These monthly awards entitle the winner to two tickets and accommodation at the hotel.
In addition the Writers’ also present awards for Personality of the Year, best referee, best PRO, hurling, camogie, ladies football and handballer as well as recognising all the provincial winners.
One of the highlights of the evening is the parade of trophies where Ulster’s finest show the fruits of victory.
