A popular Irish singer has vowed that she will never drink and drive again and urged other people never to make the same mistake she did.
Dolores Keane was speaking in Glenties where she applied to have her licence returned.
Dolores Keane of Carragh, Belclare, Tuam, Co. Galway had been disqualified from driving for four years on January 27, 2012 and made an application to restore the licence before Judge Paul Kelly.
She said she was a recovering alcoholic and had been treated for breast cancer and required transport to maintain her appointments, as well as for transport for her blind son. She said she realised she made an “awful mistake” drink driving and added it wouldn’t happen again.
