Gardaí are warning homeowners to be on the alert following three break-ins in the Killybegs area.
Two houses 100 yards apart at Carricknagore were burgled last Wednesday night/Thursday morning and a house in Dunkineely was broken into last Friday night/Saturday morning.
A garda spokesperson said the method of entry to all three houses was the same and that a couple with a young child were at home during on of the incidents.
“The intruders broke in quietly, took what they could find quickly and left,” the garda added.
Small items, including a tablet, an engagement ring, a wallet, bank cards and cash were taken. He asked people not to leave valuable items in view or near points of entry. Anyone who saw anything suspicious between 1am and 8am on Jan. 4 or 8 is asked to contact gardaí in Killybegs or Ballyshannon.
