“Rural Ireland is in decline” - election candidate

One of the youngest candidates in the local elections has said that cutbacks and closures are leading to the demise of rural areas.

Glenties man Ian Molloy officially commenced his Local Election campaign in a packed ballroom in Highland’s Hotel on Saturday night last which was launched by MEP Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher.

Molloy outlined the key issues that he would pursue at local level on behalf of the people of the Glenties Electoral Area if elected to the council in Lifford.

Senior party members noted he noticeable air of excitement and enthusiasm among the young people who were present to celebrate Ian’s launch with him.
