As one Donegal resident of three years heads off to “Paradise” in the Caribbean, a Corkonian comes to Donegal from this idyllic location.
Jeroen Quint who has been General Manager of the prestigious 5-star Lough Eske Castle departed Ireland on Tuesday last for his new position at the Capella Marigot Bay in St. Lucia, a destination which author novelist James A Michener described as “the most beautiful in the Caribbean”.
Jeroen and his wife Jessica bring treasured memories of their time in Donegal to the Caribbean but also something which could be considered life changing - a new baby which is due later in the year.
Corkman Sean Carney is taking over at the Castle in February, but the Donegal Democrat caught up with him on his brief visit earlier this week. Born in West Cork but brought up in Ballymount in Wicklow, Sean will be returning to his native land from St. Lucia.
A man with strong GAA connections having played for Wicklow and Derry during his stint in New York, Sean was very curious about Donegal’s progress in training this year and is already looking forward to some good club and county matches here in Donegal. “It’s great to be back home” he said, “This is a tremendous property and I really am looking forward to the challenge.”
