The RNLI Lifeboat Station in Bundoran bore the full brunt of “Storm Brigid” over the weekend as both high winds and continuous tidal surges pounded the building on the boat quay.
The first surge in the early hours of Saturday morning washed aside the doors of the station and washed the moored small boats up on the Quayside.
Yesterday afternoon the crew moved the Lifeboat to higher ground as a precaution.
Daimon Fergus who spent practically the whole weekend at the station said, “We are still on full alert but we are just moving it as a precaution.”
