Large political parties expecting gains

The three biggest political parties on Donegal County Council all hope to have increased the number of seats they hold in Friday’s local election.

Despite a much talked about anti - government vote, Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and Sinn Féin are all expecting to gain seats in the county’s Local elections.

Spokespersons for all parties were all predicting gains in spite of the national polls predicting a large swing to Independents.
