Jet ski capsizes near Murvagh

Bundoran RNLI were called out on Saturday afternoon when a family of four went into their water after their jet ski overturned.

The incident occured just after 2pm near Murvagh beach and the Sligo 118 Rescue helicopter was also sent to the scene.

Fortunately, all four members of the family, who are from Northern Ireland, were wearing lifejackets and they managed to make their way safety to sure, Bundoran RNLI helm Brian Gillespie said.

“This could have been a much more serious situation,” he added.

“Always use a lifejacket when out on the water.”
