Heroes honoured for their courage and cool heads

Six local heroes were honoured on Sunday night by Ballyshannon Town Council for their outstanding bravery in testing conditions.

They six were involved in two rescues at Creevy, but they were two very different incidents and were separated by seven years.

Sarah Meehan rescued a man in 2006 while teenagers Oisin Kerr, Michael Hurst, Sean Heeney, Patrick Cassidy and and Sarah Hill were honoured for their quick thinking and brave actions on July 19 last year.
