After carefully nurturing his locks for over six years a young man in Donegal Town cashed them in on Friday last for charity earning €1,600.

Originally from Portlaoise Stephen Dowling, who works in the Olde Castle Bar and Restaurant, has also served an internship in the Camera Centre in the town, decided that it was time to give something back to his adopted home. Stephen who had seriously long, long hair, decided to start the New Year with a good haircut and shave and all in aid of the building fund at the O’Cleary Centre.

The O’Cleary Centre in Donegal Town is dedicated to providing facilities for those with special needs and performs a very special role in helping them realise their full potential.

Stephen had the support of his mother Carole who travelled from Tipperary his good friend Ash Corrigan of The Salon did that perfect job on his hair.
