One of Letterkenny's longest established nightclubs, the Grill, remained closed at the weekend.
The popular venue, located on the town’s Port Road, was shut on what is traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the year.
Nobody was available at the premises yesterday to discuss the closure. Attempts were also made to contact the Grill proprietor Paul McGlinchey but no to avail.
Formerly known as the Golden Grill, the complex ran into difficulties some time ago when Gardai raided the premises and removed a large quantity of its alcohol content forcing its temporary closure.
In the wake of the closure last March, subsequently successfully challenged at Letterkenny Circuit Court, a spokesman for the Gardai said the raid had been part of an ongoing strategy to enforce the licensing laws.
The premises had recently rebranded itself, promoting live music sessions.
