After days of controversy leading up to the Fianna Fáil selection convention for the Donegal Electoral Area. the party HQ in Dublin confirmed the voting arrangements last evening.
The convention takes place this evening in the Bluestack Centre in Drimarone at 7.00 pm this evening and a senior Fianna party member said this morning, “It is great to see such an interest back in the party again but I would say we are in for a fireworks display this evening.”
The candidates for selection are as follows; Outgoing councillors Brendan Byrne and Sean McEniff, Bernie Mulhern, Michael Naughton, Claudia Kennedy and Benie O’Callaghan.
The areas are now divided up as follows’;
Glencolmcille - Mountcharles; Byrne and O’Callaghan
Ballydevitt - Laghey Bar; Mulhern and Naughton
Ballintra - Bundoran; McEniff and Kennedy.
Delegates can only vote for their preferred candidate in their own area.
