The father of the 23-year-old man who was critically injured in a single vehicle collision in Letterkenny last week has made an emotional for information about the incident.
Martin McGrath’s son, Darry McDaid, is in a critical condition in Letterkenny General Hospital following the collision on Letterkenny’s Port Road in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Gardaí are investigating the possibility that another vehicle may have been involved in the collision.
Mr. McGrath, who himself was seriously injured in a road accident 36 years ago, appealed to the public to pray for Darry’s recovery. He told Highland Radio that his son, one of seven children, is “a very, very sick boy”. He always dreaded one of his own sons being involved in a road accident, he said.
Mr. McGrath said he feels butterflies in his stomach when he passes the scene every day going to and from the hospital to visit his son.
Darry’s father said it is very important that anybody who knows anything about the incident comes forward.
