Hundreds of mourners braved wind and rain to pay their respects to the late Enda McLaughlin who died in Germany and was buried today in Carndonagh.
The 27-year-old from Glentogher died on June 23 when he was struck by a car after he ran onto a motorway near the town of Düren in Germany.
He did so after allegedly stabbing three people as he travelled from the Dutch city of Herleen to Germany.
Fr. Con McLaughlin, PP, officiated at the funeral mass this morning at Sacred Heard Church, Carndonagh.
Mourners heard that this was the third time for tragedy to strike the family, as the deceased’s mother had died in a fire and his brother had drowned.
Fr. McLaughlin asked the congregation to pray for the family and for those affected by the incidents in Holland and Germany.
