Donegal can look forward to a double date with Dublin in Croke Park in three weeks’ time following Saturday’s dramatic quarter final victory over Armagh.

Jim McGuinness’s side looked in real danger of crashing out when they trailed going into the final few minutes of a pulsating encounter.

However, a free from Michael Murphy followed by the winning score from Patrick McBrearty ensured the Ulster Champions went through to the semi final on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11.

With Donegal’s minor footballers already through to the semi final, it promises to be a day to remember for the county’s GAA supporters on Sunday, August 31st.

With Dublin defeating Monaghan in Saturday’s second quarter final, it means Donegal will meet Dublin in both the minor and senior semi finals.

See our 12 page special on Saturday’s quarter final in Monday’s Donegal Democrat/Donegal People’s Press.
