At the Mall Park on Sunday a beautiful day brought hundreds of people down to support Our Ladies Children’s Hospital, Crumlin for the 3rd annual 1,000 km walk.
The walk was started off by some of the local families who attend Crumlin Hospital – Flood Dolans, Connolly, Kennedy, Ryan, Warren, Kane, Ayres, McCarthy’s, Gillespie, Lee-Fox and McGinley families. There are other families locally who attend but were unable to come along on the day.
The target for the day was 2,540 laps and by 4pm that evening we had completed 3,843 laps an amazing total and thank you to everyone who participated in the walk.
Thanks to Centra for allowing us to sell lines, Ballyshannon Leisure Centre for sponsoring first prize in the raffle and to everyone who helped sell the lines.
In total €3,377.42 was raised.
This money will be presented to the Childrens Medical & Research Foundation. Organiser Tracey Flood added: “A massive big thank you to everyone who supported and donated to the day and to everyone who helped out on the day. Ballyshannon over the last few years have certainly played their part in helping Fix Crumlin.”
