With a vast number of year’s experience working in Marine Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher is no stranger to water related matters.
However this afternoon may have been a first for the affable former MEP and Minister as he faced the ice bucket challenge in his home town of Dungloe.

Before the water poured down Pat joked with the Democrat, “Thank God I fought hard for that hospital across the road - I might need it after this”.

Pat nominated Cllr. Enda Bonner, former Cllr. David Alcorn, the Democrat’s Matt Britton and Hugh G. Boyle.

Gallagher joked, “Sure they will all be in Croke Park on Sunday - maybe we can do it there!”

With over €900,000 raised in Ireland to date, this Ice Bucket Challenge has been a financial bonanza for the charities involved and full credit is due to all the participants.
