A meeting between residents of the Knather, Ballyshannon and the ESB, which was to have taken place in Ballyshannon Town Council Chamber, now looks set to be held at Drumlonagher.
The controversy over a new fence which the ESB erected was raised at Tuesday’s meeting of the DCC Electoral Area Committee (DEAC).
Cllr. Barry O’Neill claimed residents’ concerns regarding the possible impact on the environment, tourism and right of way had not been taken on board by county planners. Cllr. Sean McEniff fully agreed with Cllr. O’Neill on this issue.
Ballyshannon Mayor Cllr. John Meehan said members of the town council had agreed to facilitate the meeting but Cllr. O’Neill said that should be done by the DEAC, which is the relevant planning authority.
It was agreed that this would be done, in a specially convened workshop, subject to agreement and that planning staff would also be asked to attend.
