Castlefin man’s Winning Streak!

William McElchar of Drumdoit, Castlfin, won €33,000 on the National Lottery’s Winning Streak game show last Saturday night.

He and his wife Jacqueline have three daughters -Sorcha, Naomi and Carina. He was busy with a birthday party for Carina when his name was called out the previous week. The first he knew was when his wife and the girls started shouting about it. He said it was midnight “before it finally sunk in” that he’d been selected.

The self-employed cattle haulier, bought the scratch card from Londis in Convoy.

William is self employed – he is involved in cattle haulage and works throughout Ireland.

He is working on the restoration of a vintage tractor but spends most of his free time with his family.

He said he feels “lucky enough in life” already is is not a gambler.

His main plan for the winnings is to help with his daughters’ education but he’s also looking forward to a family holiday.
