Deputy Joe McHugh has called on the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly, to set up an independent review to establish what happened in the case of Maura Porter who died following a road accident in Inishowen last month. Her family claim an ambulance which was sent from Letterkenny to Carndonagh took 50 minutes to reach her.

Deputy McHugh is calling for clarity on the issue of whether ambulance responses in Donegal are in line with HSE or Hiqa guidelines and standards of conduct. He said review of ambulance services nationally is now needed.
