Buncrana girl Leah selected as Donegal entrant in Mary from Dungloe

Beautiful Leah Waldron, 24, from Buncrana, has been selected as the Donegal Mary from Dungloe, and will represent the county at this year’s eagerly awaited end of July festival in the Rosses capital.

Last night Donegal Democrat columnist Frank Galligan was the man asking the questions and he put all eleven finalists through their paces at a wonderfully well organised event in the elegant Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny ballroom.

“It was a great night and all eleven girls were winners,” Frank told www.donegaldemocrat.com.

The judges on Friday night at the County Final of the Mary from Dungloe in the Clanree Hotel were, Philip Nee, Sharon Bradley, current Mary from Dungloe Debbie Rogers, Jenni Timoney, Emma Connors, Festival Director and Frank Galligan, was MC for the function.

The girl to represent Dungloe will be selected on June 8th. Fourteen girls from around the world will participate in this year’s festival in a bid to be crowned the 45th Mary from Dungloe.

Last weekend in New York, Alice Anne Robinson was selected to represent the Big Apple at a star studded gala.

This year’s festival runs from Saturday July 28th to Monday, August 6th.
