Gardaí were this afternoon called to the home of the late Dessie Quinn of Mountcharles to move on a large crowd of media both national and international who had “literally camped” outside the family home in Mountcharles.

The media included International satellite stations and a large number of radio and print journalists who according to Garda sources were from Northern Ireland and the UK.

As a precautionary measure the remains of Mr. Quinn were tested for “Ebola” as he had travelled from Sierra Leone but this afternoon the HSE said that there was no trace of the virus in his system.

The Garda source told the Donegal Democrat/People’s Press, “We were called by members of Mr. Quinn’s family and his friends; there was a large number of journalists, photographers and at least two well known television stations camped outside the family home.

“It was a total infringement of a grieving family’s privacy and we moved them on.
“The family have requested all media to respect their privacy at this difficult time.”
