The body of a man was recovered from Lough Melvin on Friday afternoon.
He has been named locally as Seamus Feely, Mullinaleck, Kinlough.
The man who discovered the remains was out walking with a second man at around 4.30pn when they noticed something in the water.
A local angler, he got his boat and helped gardai recover the body from shallow water near the pier.
The man, who asked not to be named, said he knew the deceased, who was aged in his mid-forties.
“Everybody here knew Seamus and his brother Michael.
“It’s tough times and especially hard for Michael, who was with us when we found him.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael and the rest of the family.”
A garda spokesperson confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.
Remains are reposing at the Sheil Hospital, Ballyshannon.
Removal from there at 7pm on Tuesday, to St. Aidan’s Church Kinlough for 8pm.
Funeral Mass Wednesday at 11am with burial afterwards to St. Aidan’s Cemetery.
