‘Be vigilant’ - IFA after livestock thefts

The Donegal Chairman of the Irish Farmers Association is asking everyone to be on the alert for suspicious vehicles.

PJ McMonagle made the appeal following news that thieves are targeting livestock on farms near the border.

The Sunday Independent reported today that the gardaí and the PSNI are mounting their biggest joint operation since the Troubles in an effort to stamp out livestock rustling and illegal abatoirs.

Mr McGonagle told the Democrat/Peoples Press: “There is a serious problem with cattle and sheep rustling here in Donegal.”
