Locals from the Ballyshannon and Belleek area took part in a ‘Shave & Dye’ night for the ‘Irish Cancer Society’ in Melly’s Bar in Ballyshannon on Saturday night.

The night raised 4893 euro for the Irish Cancer Society and was brilliantly organised by Aiden Murray, a young man who proved well capable of organising what was a fantastic night.

Aiden spoke very eloquently about his late grandfather, Tommy McCaffrey, whose death inspired him to run the night and received a fantastic round of applause from all involved and the many people who turned up to support the night which saw Michael Melly’s always friendly bar packed to capacity.

Billy Grimes, in his pink Donegal Creameries jersey, really was a picture while Nadine Coughlan and Anita Murray proved more than capable at the cutting and shaving and of course let’s not forget the lads who decided to dye their hair some really eye catching colours.

Those who ‘volunteered’ to have their hair dyed or shaved were John McGowan, Cian Dolan, J.J. Cassidy, Cllr. Val Murray, Michael Cleary, Brian Mullins, Aidan Murray, Kieran Breslin, James Branley and Anthony Coughlan.
