Gardaí in Letterkenny are investigating two attacks at the homes of pensioners close to Letterkenny.
The incidents occurred at Drumoghill between 9pm and 9.30pm and at Knockbrack between 11pm to 11.30pm on Monday night.
One of the homes was occupied by a woman and the other by a man. Gardaí believe the two incidents may be linked.
In both cases men knocked on the door of the houses and forced their way in. The occupants were subdued while the houses were ransacked. While the victims were not physically injured they were both left very traumatised. A handbag taken from one of the homes was left discarded in the Lismongahan area of the town between 11.30pm on Monday and 2am on Tuesday.
Gardaí also believe an incident at the Royal and Prior School in Raphoe may also be linked. A number of men entered the school causing criminal damage at around midnight on Monday.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 91 67100.
