Despite suffering from Parkinson’s for years one Ballyshannon man undertook many challenges raising valuable funds for charity.

Anthony O’Malley Daly, a former Ballyshannon Man of the Year, was a familiar and popular figure in the Erneside town and looked at his illness as nothing but another challenge.

Over the last number of years he engaged in every type of fundraiser imaginable including jumping out of planes to raising funds for the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland,

Anthony passed away in November last but is still raising funds from his lofty seat in the heavens above.

The Donegal Association - Dublin has donated €1,200 to the North West Branch of the Parkinson’s Association of Dublin in memory of the Ballyshannon man.

Emmet McCauley said, “Perhaps it is a fitting tribute to Anthony O’Malley Daly that even after his death he continues to raise funds and create awareness of the sufferers of Parkinson’s Disease in Donegal and far beyond.” The money will assist sufferers and their families who struggle with the ongoing challenges of Parkinson’s Disease.
