An employee of Largo Foods said staff were shocked by Friday’s announcement that 142 jobs would be gone from Gaoth Dobhair by August.

“The mood was bad,” he said. “There was shock first, then people started thinking.

“Everyone now is kind of panicking,” he said. Largo announced on Friday their plans to transfer manufacturing from Gaoth Dobhair to their main plant in County Meath.”

That was the reaction of one of the employees of Largo Foods which announced it’s shock closure on Friday morning.
