Double killer John Gallagher appeared in court in Strabane yesterday in connection with charges of alleged harassment and making threats to kill.

Double killer John Gallagher appeared in court in Strabane yesterday in connection with charges of alleged harassment and making threats to kill.

The 46-year-old with an address at Grangewood, Strabane, appeared for a brief hearing yesterday at Strabane Magistrate Court to face two charges arising out of an incident on Monday (May 13)

He was charged with harassment and making threats to kill. The allegations are understood to be in relation to an altercation between him and his brother, Joseph Gallagher.

The court was told that Gardai in Lifford possess evidence which supports the version of events given by the accused and not that of his brother.

Gallagher was released on bail and the case continues on May 23.

John Gallagher was found guilty but insane of murdering his ex-girlfriend, 18-year-old Anne Gillespie and her mother 51-year-old mother Annie, who were shot dead in Sligo in 1988.
