Two men have been detained by the PSNI as part of the investigation into a burglary at a business premises in Glenties on Monday evening.
Gardaí investigating the theft of a large sum of money from the premises say two men arrested by the PSNI are helping with inquires.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who observed suspicious activity in the Glenties are between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday to contact them.
The burglary took place at the Paper Stop premises on the town’s Main Street at between 6pm and 6.30pm.
Gardaí were called to the scene and a text was issued on the local text alert scheme.
The incident came just after gardaí issued a warning to the owners of rural business premises to be vigilant. The warning came following the burglary of a shop and filling station in Letirmacaward on Sunday night.
Gardaí advised business to carry out an audit of security following the incident.
The public has been urged to be vigilant and keep a sharp eye for movement of vehicles late at night or early in the morning in an effort to thwart the movements and activities of organised criminals.
