Dissidents tell brothers to leave Donegal
An organisation claiming to be the IRA have told two brothers from Donegal to leave the county within 48 hours.

An organisation claiming to be the IRA have told two brothers from Donegal to leave the county within 48 hours.

Sinn Féin TD for Donegal North-East, Padraig MacLochlainn said the gardaí alerted the brothers to the threat last night.

The organisation making the threat is accusing the two brothers of being drug dealers.

Deputy Mac Lochlainn met the family last night and is convinced that the claims are untrue.

“The family are abolutely distraught”, he said.

“These are men with families and they’ve been given 48 hours to leave Donegal or they will be shot.

““We are all aware that a man has been killed by one of these dissident organisations in Donegal in recent years.

“The brothers are being accused of being drug dealers.

“I want to state clearly to those responsible that I believe these allegations to be entirely untrue.

“I also spoke to a number of members of the community where this family lives and they also believe these allegations to be untrue.

“Regardless of whether the allegations are true or not, there is only one authority for dealing with allegations of criminality and that is An Garda Siochana.”

He called on the organisation to remove the threat immediately.
