Congratulations to Adam Rory Porter for once again capturing an extraordinary image of Donegal in all its beauty.
He set out last night with his father-in-law to try to photograph the Aurora Borealis also known as the Northern Lights.
Although the lights never materialised, the effort was far from wasted.
Here is a shot of the Milky Way high above Lough Swilly, with Fanad Head lighthouse standing watch to the right.
The green wisps are known as airglow or nightglow, Adam explained.
“We are so lucky to live in this part of the world,” he added.
And to have people like Adam to share it with us, we say!
