As the world focuses on the horrendous images emanating from Gaza one Donegal woman spoke about how surfing can break barriers.

Rossnowlagh’s Easkey Britton has visited areas of conflict in the Middle East and pioneered a surf mission to Iran back in 2010 and again last summer where she introduced the whole concept of surfing to young Iranian women.

Easkey is the co-founder of Waves of Freedom which is built on the belief in the power of surfing as a tool for connection, self-empowerment and bridging barriers across cultural and social divides.
