Suspect sought in Madeline disappearance
Police in the UK have issued e-fit images of a person they wish to speak with in connection to the disappearance of Madeline McCann in 2007.

Police in the UK have issued e-fit images of a person they wish to speak with in connection to the disappearance of Madeline McCann in 2007.

The missing girl has strong Donegal connections. Her father Gerry McCann’s father John is from St Johnston, where the family owned a pub.

Mr McCann also has a large number of relatives in the Dungloe area.

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine have issued a fresh appeal asking for the public’s help to identify a man in an appeal they say is of “vital importance”.

Two e-fit images, believed to be of the same man, will feature in the BBC Crimewatch episode tonight. They have been drawn up based on statements and descriptions from two different witnesses who saw this man in the Praia da Luz town area.

The sightings are understood to be from the evening of Thursday May 3, 2007 — the night Madeleine went missing in Portugal.
