A special meeting of Donegal County Council to discuss break-ins at a number of homes across the county in recent weeks is set to get underway in Lifford shortly.

Members of the Joint Policing Committee will be there, and senior gardai in the county have been invited to attend.

The meeting was sought by Kilmacrennan based Councillor Michael Mc Bride. He says there’s an onus on the council to see if it can do anything to respond to the problem.
